OK, I have another confession to make. I like Madonna. I’ve always liked her. I like her music, her dancing, her many transformations, and her moxie. Her catchy, mass-appeal songs are infectious and just make you want to get up and dance, damn it! Plus, I will say another sacrilegious thing here: I like her rendition of Fever better than Peggy Lee’s. Gasp!
No, Madonna is not the best singer or dancer in the world, but a full quarter-century after she came on the scene, she is still relevant. Of course, it has all been very calculated, but no one can argue that it hasn’t been very successful. She has just released her 11th album, Hard Candy.
However, I’m not here to discuss her music. Befitting this blog, I’d like to discuss her looks. She’s turning 50 this summer and she has the body of a woman half her age. That is, a woman half her age who works out all the time and is uber-disciplined about her diet. It’s no mystery how she gets her fit physique. No surgeon’s scalpel can produce those results. But what I’d really like to know is how she has maintained a youthful but natural looking face when many of her contemporaries are freakish-looking. Has anyone seen 51-year old Melanie Griffith lately? Yeesh!
My mother observed that after a certain age, a woman has to choose between her butt and her face. Well, it looks like Madonna has held on to both. Her body is so lean, but her face is not. Her face has had no loss of volume which typically results from being thin and also from aging. How does she do it? Botox? Some other fillers? What gives?

She should lose the fake, pretentious British accent, but Madoona still has it goin’ on.
